Sometimes, God whispers before the storm. Other times, He places a verse in your path so many times that you just know—it’s more than coincidence. It’s a divine setup. That’s exactly how Be Still Living began.
Almost a year before everything shifted in my life, I kept seeing the same verse over and over:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
It showed up in devotionals, sermons, random Instagram posts—and most memorably, on a mug I’d sip from every morning while working. I was juggling the demands of a job, life, and the unspoken pressure so many Black women carry: to be strong, to be the glue, to keep pushing no matter what. That verse was a quiet comfort. A whisper I didn’t fully understand yet.
And then I broke my arm.
Out of nowhere, my world slowed down—fast. I had to leave my job, face financial uncertainty, and sit with a level of stillness I hadn’t planned for. I couldn’t work, I couldn’t do much physically, and to be honest, I felt forgotten. In that season of healing, I realized I was also being stripped—of false security, of people I thought would be there for me, of my ability to control outcomes.
Friends and family I expected to lean on fell silent. It was just me and God. And while that loneliness hurt, it also taught me to truly depend on Him. The same God who whispered “Be still” months before, was now showing me what that meant in the deepest way.
And in that space—broken, uncertain, yet still held—God gave me the idea for Be Still Living.
A space for women like me. Black women who are navigating storms, transitions, burnout, and silent battles… but who long for peace. Who want to be soft, be seen, be cared for.
This brand is more than clothes and candles. It’s a reminder that stillness is sacred.
That peace is a right, not a luxury.
That even when life forces you to pause, God is still moving.
Be Still Living is for you.
For the woman finding her way back to herself.
For the one who’s rebuilding.
For the one learning to rest.
Sis, you don’t have to earn peace. You already deserve it.
